Athens-Clarke County Animal Services Department has extended their moratorium on dog adoptions and owner surrenders until Nov. 8 due to cases of canine parvovirus and space constraints, according to an ACCGov press release. The pause of these operations has been extended multiple times due to new confirmed cases of parvo, a highly contagious disease that can affect all dogs, especially unvaccinated dogs and puppies under four months old, the release said. Greenpeace has urged the government to abandon a deep-sea gas exploration project in the Mediterranean, citing newly published research to argue that its impact on endangered whales and dolphins would be greater than previously believed. Previously unpublished images of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Türkiye, along with various historical recordings, have been added to a web archive called Film Mirasım (My Film Heritage, in English) launched by the Culture and Tourism Ministry. A total of 128 digital films from the years between 1918 and 1938 and 195 images between 1938 and 1950 have been added to the archive on the website.
