Haunted farms, trick-or-treats and parades are among the Halloween-related activities being held throughout Athens County.
Athens
The third annual truck-or-treat at Kimes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center will be held from 6:30-7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the center, 75 Kines Lane, Athens.
Truck-or-treat from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday in the Athens Market on State parking lot, 1006 E. State St., Athens. Over 70 vendors and participants will pass out candy.
The City of Athens annual Halloween Block Party is set for 1-11 p.m. Saturday in Uptown Athens.
Athens Uptown Business Association Trick-or-Treat will be from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday on Court Street, West State Street, Washington Street and Union Street.
Adult Block Party will be from 6-11 p.m. Saturday in Uptown Athens. Stage will be located on Court Street, between Union Street and Washington Street. The band Detention, recently voted Cleveland’s Best Punk band, will headline Athens Halloween this year. Other acts will include local heavy metal favorite, Arachnid, Live DJs from Brick Life, an artist showcase from Ohio University based Brick City Records, and DJ B-Funk.
A free Halloween Party for children will be held from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at American Legion Post 21, 520 W. Union St., Athens. Costumed encourages. Treat bags, games and light refreshments provided. Sponsored by the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
An outdoor walking tour of the historic Athens Asylum will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Ridges, 100 Ridges Circle, Athens. Hosted by the Southeast Ohio History Center, tickets are available at southeastohiohistorycenter-bloom.kindful.com/e/outdoor-walking-tour-of-the-historic-athens-asylum-1
Trick-or-treat will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 31.
Athens Hocking Recycling Center, 5991 Industrial Drive, Athens, will host an open house of its organics facility and a pumpkin smash from noon-4 p.m. Nov. 4. Bring your leftover pumpkins to smash and compost. Free to the public.
Chauncey
Trick-or-treat will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Oct. 28 in Chauncey.
Coolville
Murphy’s Farm Field of Screams is open until the last Saturday in October. Located at 28364 Osborne Road, Coolville, the venue will be open from 7-11 p.m. every Friday and Saturday in October. Cost is $15 per person.
Coolville Ghoulfest will be held from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 31 on Main Street, Coolville. A trunk-or-treat and village trick-or-treat will be held from 6-7:30 p.m., with truck-or-treat set up starting at 5 p.m. Activities will start at 5:30 p.m. with broom races at 7:30 p.m. at the Coolville United Methodist Church.
Glouster
Trick-or-treat in the village of Glouster will be from 3-4 p.m. Saturday.
Nelsonville
Southeast Ohio Rainbow Alliance will hold a Halloween Social from 5:30-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Nelsonville Public Library, 95 W. Washington St., Nelsonville. The all-inclusive event will include movies, games, food, costume contest and dance party. For information, email jackbyers@pridenelsonville.com.
Hocking College will host Haunted Robbins Crossing tours from 7-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. A Halloween Festival will be held from noon to 5 p.m. The events will be held at 3301 Hocking Parkway, Southeast, intersection by Loop Road, Nelsonville. The events are free and open to the public.
Trick-or-treat, or Beggar’s Night, will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday in the City of Nelsonville.
Stewart/Guysville
Trick-or-treat for Stewart and Guysville will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 31.
The Plains
Trunk-or-treat will start at 5 p.m. Thursday at Hickory Creek of Athens, 51 E. 4th St., Athens.
Vore Ridge/Salem Road Trick-or-Treat will be held from 3-4 p.m. Saturday in the Vore Ridge/Salem Road area.
On Vore Ridge, trick-or-treat will be from Mick Hart’s house (last house on left before Salem intersection going toward State Route 682) to Candy Goodwin’s house (last one on right before going down big hill going toward State Route 691).
On Salem Road, trick-or-treat will be from Shelly Baker’s house (to the right of Vore Ridge going toward Luhrig) to Bud and Sandy Six’s house (to the left of Vore Ridge going toward LeMaster).
